Ok, at time of post I'm currently downloading ubuntu,mandriva,xandros,DamnSmallLinux and Puppy Linux. Does anyone know where I can get some good (but HUGE) programs for these (or Windoze)?

Puppy linux i wouldn't get that if i were you one of the worst linux os's out there if you can even call it that screwed up my HD something bad when i asked them about it they said it was a known bug that couldn't be fixxed.

? I've installed Puppy Linux a few times and had no problems withit - what was the kernel version for the one you installed?

any of the debian derivatives (ubuntu, damnsmall, and the like) come with access to one the largest collections of software available - the debian repositories. just a few keystrokes away with apt-get or your favorite package manager.

I'm downloading them from windoze - mandrake 9.1 has a problem with my Sagem F@st 800 modem.
