Using Microsoft Paint, how do you set the background to transparent?
Is there better basic paint programs out there?

The lighter grey color, and you have to save it as a .BMP...that is if you are talking about using it in BYOND.

MSPaint doesn't have transparncy support. GIMP is a great Art Program, the GIMPShop variant is nice, comes with a good plugin to group the tasks together.

That's not quite transparancy/alpha channel/transluency (or whatever, I really don't know what term to use).
It's just not drawing over stuff. |

You're still wrong. ;) Well, it's transparent as far as when you're editing the image. So that's like partial support. Not drawing white as an opaque color helps when you want to piece different icons together (like if you wanted to copy+paste images from .dmi files to piece together a base, clothes, and hair or something.) ...I said partially. They aren't even related :P. It's like saying my TV partially supports playing PC games because it can display images. |
