This just goes to show that you never let an untrained person near your hair with anything sharper than a comb.

I was trimming my hair with a trimmer earlier tonight, and my grandma didn't want me to shave it bald again(which I did just before spring break). I figured I would be nice and just trim it, for her sake. So I'm standing in the bathroom trimming my hair, and I ask her to come over from the computer and trim my neck. I take the guard off of the trimmer and hand it to her. She proceeds to shave a line up the back of my head completely bald, thinking I said trim the back. The irony is delicous.

She was near tears; I couldn't stop laughing.
When I was little my mom used to cut my hair until one time when she decided to go psycho and cut my ear (she did the same exact thing to my younger brother). So I just never got my hair cut by her again :)

My mom did that to my brother when he was 6, I was 5 at the time and scared to death after I saw that. She cut my hair anyway >_>

When she says "don't move", she means business. =P

My grandma cut my ear with one of those large, orange scissors. (like these, sort of). omg...

Not bad, really, but I still remember it :D

My worst experience was back in like 2nd-3rd Grade. The style then was to have the sides and back short and the top longer (like a size 2 buzzer clip on sides, size 3-4 or scissor trimmed on top). They would also use the buzzer without any clips on it to make a line where the transition took place. It looked good the couple times I had it done, then my Father made the mistake of buying a Buzzer for my mother. When she did it my head was fine, no cuts, bleeding or bruising. Unfortunately the line didn't match up from one side to the other... It was about 4cm higher on the one side, was extremely noticable, and I had to live with it for about 2 weeks so it could grow out enough for a crewcut (She wouldn't let me go bald.)

Atleast it wasn't a mullet, or rat tail. Gosh...I hated the 80s hair fads. -_-

One time my uncle scolded me and gave me a haircut when he was drunk...Amazingly, it came out ok.

My dad used to always give me hair cuts, they would come out aweful and whenever i told him "no" he forced me anyway. 1 of those days i went to school and some people were laughing and making wise cracks like "hey, did you get in a fight with a lawn mower". Another time in 8th grade 1 kid was like "i like the hair-cut", "its like what they do back in Africa", then another kid came out of no where and said "Yeah, with a Rock".

I have friend to cut my hair and I have a mohawk right now. Aside from that, I've ended up with words in the side of my head, shaved-in designs and the like. I've never been cut, or had a haircut that was TOO terrible, but I have some uhh... "different" things happen to my hair.

It is amazing what you'll let someone do on impulse. xD

I've never had very interesting haircuts, but I know someone from school who participated in a "Shave for a Cure" thing that the school ran. (The idea is that you sponsor someone to get all their hair shaved off, and the money goes to cancer research.) She went almost completely bald, except for a question mark at the back. Then she dyed the question mark red. It was great, she was walking around for a few weeks with this great vivid red question mark on the back of her head. =)

That's what always gets me. Why does everyone think there HAS to be a cure for every disease we're plagued with? What if there is no cure for everything in the rainforests as many people think? Just something to ponder about...and, we shall now return you to your regularly scheduled post.

Two reasons:

- We'll never know if there's a cure or not if we don't try.

- Everyone's not so pessimisic about it. While you say "What if there isn't a cure?", some people who are a little more hopeful or motivated to find a cure due to certain circumtances we'll be more in the area of "Why haven't we found one yet?"

I do admit that some people may take it a little overboard, but who's to complain for their trying? At least they're helping by getting rid of cure theories.

If this causes anymore input from anyone. Just create a new post. lol.

Cancer research doesn't just mean looking for a cure. A lot of cancer research is about prevention and ways to stop it from spreading. I do agree that it's not likily we'll find a cure for it. To me it seems like curing a shotgun blast.
I should know, this doctor who has the same name as me is a cancer research type guy, that practically makes me an authority on the subject!
Here in Australia we have a big problem with skin cancer. I'm more then happy to donate $50 a year reguardless of if it's possible to cure it. I also get to see a bunch of cops and B-grade celebrities shave their heads.

Who said it has to be in the rainforests...if you ask me all the answers are in space, dont get me started on my theories =p. Some other guy (Resonating_Light) said most of what i was going to say ;/.

There is :). Kill a person and no disease can plague them. Regardless there is a way to fix anything and I'm quite sure once we have reliable nanotechonolgy we'll easily be able to remove any disease or cancer that plagues the body.

You got a point, then why dont we just kill everyone that has Cancer/Aids so no one else can get it. >.>'

But really', it does'nt sound like a cure, more like a disaster. ;/

I get a 0 on the sides (metal, so the shave is closer) and a 4 on the top. It's a mexican thing, lol.

Heh well cancer isn't a disease and everyone has it to some extent. It's only a problem when it gets largely out of control which happens either genetically or from unhealthy living(which is generally why you hear a lot of stuff can cause cancer).
