I was wondering if BYOND might ever support something other than just wav and midis... I know digital audio is a bad idea, but thats not what I'm suggesting. Perhaps byond could support some of the tracked music file types, such as impulsetracker, etc... Or is there some sort of patent crap? I personally think mods, etc, are better than midis even though they use digital audio samples... Or would this create problems with the text version ports? o.o Do those even support sound?

If you really, really want something else, check if IE can do it. If so, browse a page to the player than has an <embed> tag that plays the sound(starts up windows media player).

Some kind of MOD support is on the drawing board, I believe. Tom is trying to hammer out the details involved.

MOD would be awesome. Ogg Vorbis would be pretty good too. =)

Yeah, using mods would be a GREAT idea, definatly something I'd like to see in the future. It should also encourage mod tracking (the making of mods) as well.
I have access to an ENOURMOUS mod library, so mods will definatly be beneficial for my game! Anyway, I can't wait til' that is put in! |
