Irreconciliable error.

Motley Crue isn't bad, not a favorite or anything though.

1. Metallica
2. Slayer
3. Ozzy Osbourne
3. AC/DC
4. Ministry
5. Guns N' Roses
6 Staind
7. Godsmack (some)

Bands like that.

Metallica

I don't even consider Metallica to be Metallica anymore. They used to define, now they struggle to keep up with the new stuff.
Metallica should have let themselves fade a little and stay legendary instead of going into areas they shouldn't and becoming a joke.
The only reason they are still around is because they refuse to die. Once they are dead they aren't going to get any new fans because a new guy will listen too their latest album and blow them off as mediocore wannabes.
If they faded they would continue long after they died because all their albums were full of good stuff. The sort of stuff you can think "Yeah, this is old, but it's really good/done well".

Anyway, that's just a rant about why I dislike the new Metallica.

Well I bet you wouldn't be surprised if I told you your not the first one to say that =P I agree that their current music is not as good as there old music, I totally agree, and not a big fan myself. I mainly listen to the old stuff anyways. Master of Puppets being my favorite Metallica album. Metallica just chose to be different, even if there music did change. Take AC/DC into example...they never changed there style of music, neither did Iron Maiden. That was there choice, and might work for them. Metallica just didn't want to stay the same, they changed musically every album...could you really blame them? Just what they wanted to do, and even if they do lose fans, they gain fans even if the music isn't that good to you. (I have been a fan for quite a while, before St. Anger.)

Oh, I thought by putting them at number one you meant that they were your favorite.

As for the changing their music, they obviously like change, but have got into the habit of changing with the times instead of follow the natural progression of their sound.
You can tell that they haven't put the same amount of themselves into their new stuff. They went downhill before St Anger, but I think St Anger really makes it stand out.

Well Metallica is my favorite, just there newest stuff is not. I like the Kill Em' All-...And Justice For All era...so pretty much the 80's. The black album isn't bad, but you notice a change there. Also, they hired a new producer when they made the Black Album. His name was Bob Rock, formally the producer for Motley Crue, ironically.

Nah, this is an easy one...

"What? No one likes this band? Then say your favorite band if you have one! If you don't like them, then don't say anything."

I actually like the song St. Anger a lot, as much as any other metallica song. They also performed Frantic as some telivised awards show, I liked that version a lot, a lot more than the version on their album.
