I'm kind of bored, so I kind of want to post suggestions to those making new games in the order of importance...
1. DO NOT MAKE A DBZ GAME. Unless you have something truely new to offer, such as a much better training system, and an actual storyline besides the DBZ show's sagas.

2. Before making a game, plan out your ideas... what do you want the combat system like? What kind of stat system do you want? Stuff like that... helps you know where you are at when you start making your game.

3. Think of something original unless you can think of a way of making a really good fan game. (which means, try something original with the idea, but if it is based entirely on a game and show, also try to keep true to it, or have no reference to it at all.)

4. Never give up... and never publish a game that has nothing to do in it.

Other developers... feel completely free to add more... I didn't post this up just so it can die... opinions would be nice too.
Oh come on... there has got to be something you guys thought I missed... or maybe something you disagree with, or something... anything...
Blueseed15 said something about don't make a DBZ game unless it is original. That includes DB/DBGT/DBAF or anything you mad little people can think of. And also, I don't think it is really possible to make an "original" dbz game, and I am pretty sure very few people would play it!

However, if you managed to make a 3-D lagless DBZ game on BYOND, I am sure you would get quite a crowd, and even I might pop in from time to time! But the likeliness of that happening is almost as likely as me getting better at DM then Deadron.

Don't listen to what he said. All you have to do on BYOND is make whatever you want. Just as a rule of good courtesy, you should make it all yourself. Now you know it's stupid to just make a copy of another game, but if you acutally code it and use your own icons then that's good. The way things are now, 80% of the games aren't coded at all or drawn at all. So just use YOUR own code and make sure that you use YOUR own icons. Once you get past this, then try to make different and better games. Unless you can make a truely greate MMORPG then don't make one, because there isn't a single good one on BYOND as of yet. Also, try MUD's or just different games from the usual lame half-ass made MMORPGs, ok? Like try to think of new ideas, but if you want to make some MMORPG then at least make it complete and make it have a point so it's not like everything else on byond, half-ass and generally crappy.

Actually I said don't make a DBZ game unless you have something good to offer... here are a few examples of what make the current DBZ games bad...

1. PBags... omg... even the little white guy and Yamacha could shred these apart with one finger. Plus, it gets tiring just holding buttons down or constantly clicking.

2. Almost all the attacks are the same, just with different looks... come on, vary the strength a little bit, or do something besides looks to make these different.

3. Saiyans... saiyans should be limited to those in the DBZ storyline, or you really aren't being too true to the DBZ show... plus these have too much of an advantage... same goes for halfbreed.

Comment: These are suggestions, not demands...

Comment: Definatly have to agree with this.

Comment: I have to agree about the code part, and for most part the icons... I think the icons are fine if the original maker gives permission or if (s)he made them open to the public.

Unless you can make a truely greate MMORPG then don't make one, because there isn't a single good one on BYOND as of yet.

Comment: Well... that's your opinion, but they should get a chance to try and see how it turns out, then try to improve on their idea as best they can.

Also, try MUD's or just different games from the usual lame half-ass made MMORPGs, ok? Like try to think of new ideas, but if you want to make some MMORPG then at least make it complete and make it have a point so it's not like everything else on byond, half-ass and generally crappy.

Comment: MUD... that dreaded word *shivers* I want to figure out how to code a customizable MUD engine for my TextMudPuddle game... don't know where to start, just seems substancially harder to learn. I don't think everything on here is as you say "half-ass and generally crappy"... I mean, a lot of the good ones still need work, that's true... like Proelium, Mystic Journey, Dragon Warrior, and Final Fantasy Legacy to name the big ones.
(Sorry RaeKwon... I just don't like Zeta's training system... not enough excitement)
Two other people reply... people hardly ever listen to rants of those who are little known, do they? -_-;;

Maybe noone had anything to add?

I somewhat agree. Make what you want, and don't worry about what others say, whether it is DBZ, or whatnot.

But the problem with alot of games here is people simply copy games/make games so they can become popular, make money, or fit in with the community.

The best games are games you will find fun.
