Hey, for those who know me, I will be leaving BYOND for a while. BYOND has really disappointed me. When I first heard about a system where you can create your own game and play it online with others I had high expectations, maybe too high. And with everything else I have going on right now, I thought I would just put BYOND to the side. I will probally still post here every now and then and keep up with Shoalin Publications, but thats about it. I am also giving my sources away to a few newcomers and oldbies that can possible make something of them. Oh well, Peace. Sad to see you go, sad to see anyone go, aww ;( RaeKwon! |
Unless you don't mind having graphically inferior RPGs (hey, some of them are actually prefered, like ZAngband). Anyone who cares about the graphics in an RPG shouldn't be there. P&P style roleplaying has no graphics (unless your GM is a fan of visual aids) and is the purest roleplaying around. Ultima Online has slick pseudo-3D graphics and has absolutely nothing to do with "roleplaying". |

thats only if you enjoy reading instead of seeing and being able to (in another body) physically go through a world.

Keep in mind though that despite what the term "RPG" originally meant, it now means a game where you go around killing monsters and collecting treasure. You have to write out "role-playing game" to get the original meaning.
It's not disputable. It's just a fact, whether we like it or not. |

You have to write out "role-playing game" to get the original meaning. A said word won't mean one specific thing. If you tell me RPG with no context I'm going to interpret it as role-playing game one in which you roleplay. In another context like a first person shooter I'll see it as rocket propelled grenade. Words are understood differently by different people in different contexts. You might see RPG as being "a game where you go around killing monsters and collecting treasure" but I see it as a game you play over a table with other people, dice and do some real role-playing. So since I'm disputing it's obviously disputable. |

Yo, listen up Cable; Hmmm. Sounds like a classic white rap. Don't do it again please. |
Heh, I see a bit of misinterpretation here...
The question "Who are you refering to there, RaeKwon, Cable, or yourself?" wasn't directed at you, RaeKwon... It was directed at Siientx... It wasn't "Who are you refering to there, RaeKwon? Cable, or yourself?" It was "Who are you refering to there? RaeKwon, Cable, or yourself?" See the difference? |
So... your reasoning is that if it's put on the internet, it must be true?
FYI, Triste eats sixty year old dirty socks for breakfast. Will he dare dispute the almighty internet posting? |
