I have a major coding problem.. Whoever could possibly help me, I say them. But Ebonshadow, Leftley, Digitalmouse, Ghaleon, OneFishDown, and Lummox are the best I've seen and can remember.

Although as a coder, he is quite advanced.

I'd have to say either Dan or Tom, but it's a hard call.... Bah I haven't seen them make anything worth playing :). |
I would go with Bill Kendrick (New Breed Software) as the best programmer. Some of the stuff he has made is almost perfect in design, interface, and judging by the way it works; background programming.
Lance ...Guardian of Dragons... |
I'd have to say Deadron, eventhough Lummox is a great coder, I respect Deadron far more, and think he can code better. It's a hard call, but that's my vote.

You'd think, wouldn't you? But infact some of the users here have indeed exceeded both of them in ablity.
And no offense to Tom, but Dan is the better DM coder of the two, it's common knowledge. |

...Ebonshadow, Leftley, Digitalmouse, Ghaleon, I appreciate the vote, but I gotta laugh at that. I haven't made a single game in BYOND yet (other that things from Zilal's tutorials), and odds are even the DBZ-rip coders know more about DM than I do at this point! But rest assured - now that the new business is underway, I can take a little time each evening to figure out DM. I won't claim to be the best, but I'll certainly be more adept at it in the near future! |
I am yet to see enough decent programmers on BYOND that would make being the best an honor.

I appreciate the sentiment.
For my money it's a tough call. Dan and Tom have accomplished something I've never really done, with a lot of cool features in the process; props to them. Shadowdarke I suspect is roughly my equal, since he comes up with a lot of really good ideas along the same lines of thought as I do; he's just more prolific. Leftley may also be up there, or close, but has an extremely creative streak that I envy. What I've seen of Skysaw's work is pretty good. Lexy's not bad, but I think she's more of a game designer than a programmer at heart. If we exclude Dantom, I'd have to say Deadron's probably the best programmer here. He's knowledgeable in programming methodology and has produced a number of truly advanced libraries, demos, and games. Lummox JR |
