Why not submit BYOND to download.com, im sure what it would get alot more advertising. after reading an article on making games ( http://download.com.com/1200-2021-976400.html?tag=sptlt ) and realising that there is quite a high chance that Byond may get a review on the front page, it would also get byond more mainstream, and if a website like Cnet take notice of Byond surely others will.
I know that right now masses of people are not what is needed but for sometime in a few months it could be a good idea!

This is a good idea, but I think byond should work out all the bugs first before they go public. Until then, let the customers come as they do now. No program ever works out all the bugs. The current release of BYOND has very few bugs of any significance. It's perfectly able to be released now. I'd actually suggest waiting for the next big update first, but only for the sake of timing. Lummox JR |

Also, the more users we have here to notice the revenue model change, the more users complaining about it.

I agree with Dog Man. I think BYOND is already to big. Well, not to big, but i think there are enough byonders. If BYOND gets to packed, think of all the people that don't know next to nothing or anything about computers joining BYOND. It would be ................. theres not even a way to explain it. I think we should let people join as they find it. But thats my oppinion. That is all.

And another thing. If to many people find out BYOND, and many join and learn to program, they may become professional programmers. Then to many people would be programmers and we couldnt get jobs because everyone else would already be doing them. Then the job would get minimum wage because everyone can do it. The world would be a mess! Argh!

I wasnt saying BYOND was too big, I was saying that we would be better off keeping it at its current size until after the new revenue model comes into effect.
Simply because it will mean the new BYONDers will think the model is standard, which means they are less likily to complain. -DogMan |

It's true, though. Those kids look at him like he's their god, when you bad mouth Raekwon around them you're likely to get cussed at, spammed, and insulted.
