It's gotten some great reviews (see www.metacritic.com for links to several). I'll probably get it sooner or later -- but right now I haven't even finished The Thing, and once that's finished I want to try Max Payne. Do you know if Kingdom Hearts has Shere Khan? He's my favorite Disney villain. |

My main gripes: --The monsters aren't as detailed as I'd like, and they don't look wet and slimy. --I don't like some of the minor details they've "cleared up" about the original movie. (For example, Things can imitate people's clothing, even if it's polyester.) --So far, it seems like everyone turns into a Thing sooner or later, no matter how closely you've watched them. --The level design is pretty linear. --I have a suspicion that the story is going to turn out to be somewhat more cliche'd (that's an accent mark, not an apostrophe) than the movie's. --Overall, it has more action and less suspense than the movie. --If I hit it with a grenade, it should go down! On the other hand, the overall gameplay is a lot of fun, and most of the situations that arise will reward you (at least in terms of taking less damage) for thinking strategically. |

I'll probably get it sooner or later -- but right now I haven't even finished The Thing, and once that's finished I want to try Max Payne. I tried max payne and I think it's highly overrated. The slowmotion is more annoying than cool and it just gets repetitive. Anyways, quick question, is The Thing worth it's money? My birthday is the 26th and am getting a xbox (already have a gamecube, uncle gave it to me) and 2 games and thought it looked good. Oh, how many team mates do you get and are they just randomized each time? |

Anyways, quick question, is The Thing worth it's money? Well, I'm enjoying it. (I just re-started it from the beginning tonight, so I could play through the first few levels with the benefit of experience.) See my post elsewhere in this thread for some of my gripes, but overall I like it. It's quite atmospheric. Don't know how much replay value it'll have when I'm done, though -- for replay value I'd recommend Grand Theft Auto 3. Except I don't think that's available for Xbox. Oh, how many team mates do you get and are they just randomized each time? You have a maximum of 3 at any time -- one engineer, one medic, one soldier. Your team will change over time. Sometimes you'll have a full complement and sometimes you'll be on your own. One really nice feature is that your teammates aren't just there for decoration. If you've equipped them well, they kick butt in a fight. |

Ahh come on now! Disney is not all that bad, everyone holds on to their favorite disney character. And anyway, I think Square needed a bit of a break from full-fledged RPG's. Kingdom Hearts is a nice enjoyable game for those who are just taking a break from those save the world from mass destruction games!!!
PS- I was surprised because who could have seen this coming; Square and Disney????? Two world renouned companies! I will rent it but i won't buy it till i'm sure of how good it is... |

I actually hate square, considering they make so many games, like final fantasy, its the only thing they can come up with, Like Final Fantasy, Final ehh? Well there doesnt seem to be an end to how many they make. But a combination of disney and square, thats like trying to teach an old dog tricks, they are trying to squeeze as much money out of it as they can and then they will move on. I think that Kingdom Hearts is really really lame and was a quick production to rake in more money. |

Tekken is a fighting game. The genre works like that. However, I agree on the differences in the Final Fantasy series. Besides, FF is their most hyped franchise, not their only product. What I have never quite understood is how so many fan games exist. The fan games are not limited to BYOND. I'm curious. Mind you, I've barely touched the FF games, but what are people using? Chocobos? There are cameos, but is there even a set universe to play in? What the heck binds the series together enough that someone can make a cohesive game? |

Infact some are actually pretty funny now (I actually enjoyed the Emporers New Groove, despite what people say). Also how else would you explain all the disney theme parks? |

Ugh, I totally dislike grand theft auto. It's just not my type of game or genre. But thanks, I will now mark that for my "To Get" list. |
I got Kingdom hearts a week or so ago its an excellent game in my opinion its kinda short but other then that everything seems wicked my 2 favourite parts of the game are the fighting system I like how you can move around instead of just sitting there hitting the attack button >.< and the other part is the Gummi ships i spent maybe 10 hours or so building mine collecting pieces making it look good coloring it etc as of now it is the reg gummi ship design but i upgraded all the armor to dispel-g changed the cockpit to Full life-g changed the engines to 2 Firagas and 2 Fires then for weapons I have 4 thunders in the front 2 thundaras on each wing then below each wing i have a ultima-g this thing Fires 4 shots to the fron 4 to the diagonal right and 4 to the diagonal left and then any time theres somthing that these cant kill the ultima g's rip through it
then Ive also put a Shield-2 above the right wing and a shield-1 above the left wing then Inside it where its concealed I put the scan that searchs all directions and a haste-2 beside it then on the bottom I put 2 esunas to spot those invisable things then on the back of the cockpit i put 2 osmose's to grab out of reach things then to finish it off I painted it kind of zebra color all in all its one sweet gummi ship =) anyways i suggest you should buy it its quite fun even after you beat the last boss because theres quite alot to do like collect dalmations synthasize for the ultima weapon beat the hidden bosses and etc so once again I suggest ya atleast try this game =) |
