It would be nice if when you use the search option, there was an option to search all the forums at once and not just one by one. It would be a nice time saver for someone like me whos constantly digging through them for help.

Oh, and while we're on the subject of forum features that don't need to be implemented any time soon, I've always thought it would be nice to be able to mark a thread as "uninteresting." If so marked, that thread will never show up in the index again (unless I click on the special link that says "show uninteresting threads" in case I want to unmark one) and any future posts in that thread will never be seen by me, either in the forum index or in the unread post tally.
Along those same lines, it would be nice to be able to "ban" certain keys, much like in the pager. Posts from a "banned" key simply wouldn't show up to me (but replies to such posts would). Just stupid stuff that's occurred to me, no real need to implement any of it unless you really like it. |
I've been thinking the same thing for a long time. Just too lazy to say anything...
Another time saving feature I'd love to see is links from the individual forum index to [Show all] and [Show unread] at the top of each thread. As threads have started getting longer and longer, I'm starting to use this more and more to save clicks. Right now, I have to first click on any post within the thread and only then can I click on Show unread. They could be abbreviated in the index and [A] and [U], and be for logged in users only, who are more likely to know what they mean.
As always, a minor request only if you have the time and inclination.
Oh, and I still prefer nested thread-order viewing in "Show all" mode, as is available here, but that's probably just me, so don't sweat it. ;-)
