Short & Long - Grass

This is my attempt at long grass, with a trail of short grass.
Please tell me what ya think, and how I can improve.

Personally i dont like it..It looks like Big spikes going out from the froom ...
but it depends on what kind of game is.

The 'long' grass looks more like a bunch of rocks piled up together. Try giving them more of a leafy look.
