Hello People of BYOND Pixel Art,
I am new to making this pixel art thing, and I want to know if I'm starting off good. I started working on Darth Vader's helmet because... Well, I don't know. Anyways I want to know what you think of it before it's colored and stuff.
All comments are appreciated. Is it just me or are pictures on Firefox blurry? Oh yeah, here's my reference:

I like it.
It looks like you used the "big-dot" tool for colouring. instead may i advise you use the pen tool. this will create a more sophisticated look. Try to add some AA on the line-art and perhaps some dithering in the "shading". Also you're gonna have to go for a plastic look if you're gonna mimc the reference, try to make it look smoth on the top of the helmet. Add some highlights on the sides and use rounded forms for these highlights. Again i like your style. it looks good whether or not you use the techniques. For information on AA and dither go to the BAS main page and click on the "click here" above the Complaint department collab picture. |

What's the big dot tool? I only used the pencil, eraser, and the fill tool.

Try some dithering.. No don't dither it, keep it smooth. Its actually looking good, just AA the lines, and maaaaybe show some light source for effect from i direction, then giving you the ability to maybe add a little shift in there :) |
