Too simetric imo. I know tiles have to be simetric, but there is a lot of tricks to hide it ;)

"Too simetric imo. I know tiles have to be simetric, but there is a lot of tricks to hide it ;)" This is why I planned to make 3-4 variations of the tile, so it doesn't look like it just repeats itself. Anything to say about the style? |

The cliffs got few lights sources and it doesnt look good. Dont understand the lightier color on the up, it makes the tile looks worse. You should place it not at libs, but in centrum. However its not bad ;)
EDIT: You should destroy it a little too, its too clean ;) I talk about cracks etc |

Ah, i see what you mean, Hehe.
Now that you mentioned it, i really could go further with this. Im thinking about making the light source go from the top left, and add a purple hue at the right side of it, because thats just cool. Hehe. Sort of SD3 style. |

Yeah, pallete is a bit boring too ;P Dont use only lighter and darker hues of same color, experiment! For example, darker blue can be replacement by green, and vice versa. In your case, you can use yellow for lighter hues and red for the darker ones. Im sure it would look a lot better ;)

I "Think" i fixed the light issues. BUT, i couldn't find a hue shift to fit it to save my life. And, I also added another tile variation. :D |

I dont really like the shape of "V" cliff.. And you still got problems with lighting.. The sun is a lot higher than those cliffs and the light makes impression, that the sun is at same level as them

Sun has to set somewhere, hehe. But I see what you mean. :D
I play around with that, and I think I know a way to fix the "V" shaped cliff rather easily. |

I think I got it. :D Edit: Still messy with a few tile errors. Gonna fix that if I can. :P Edit of the Edit: Fixed it. Looks better in my eyes. Heh. |

Looking good Rex, there is a real sign of improvement in that piece!
however in the mid/down part there is a bit of over-dithering compared to the rest of the tile. |

I've changed my mind about this whole piece. BUT I have not given up. I just really want to change the style it is in currently.
I have decided that I in fact want to start a project. I wanted to decide on style , and the game play that would go with it. I ended up picking more of a cartoon style, with some RPG game play. I also found out that I personally think it looks much better broken into multiple 32x32 tiles, and more close together. These colors give the bright color I was looking for also. I'll post more once I have the top, bottom, and sides. And yes I am aware that this light source makes the sun look even with the cliff. :D EDIT: This is w1ldr3x. I eventually just wanted a name without numbers to make it easier to sign in with. Yes. I'm that lazy/creative. |

I could see how you get square. Ill play with it some, The style is very simple for me. :D
Though, i do like how close they are to each other. I guess i could add a weee bit more space. |

I was looking through some pixel art cliffs and I found one I happened to like. It used nice, soft colors, and was just perfect for the style I am trying to get.
Reference:http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/6221/tilemockupzj6.png I'm not quite as good as the original artist, but I am getting there. The style is pretty much cake after you understand how he did it. :D Edit: I still think I got them to close together, lmao. I still got to play around with it. |

I used the same artist as a reference. He is good!
Yet he also uses some very simple tech's I like how your new tile looks! |
