It is a good idea, but most people wouldn't wanna make so many states because they are working on games.

Yeh... but, I don't think were in a rush to get character, some people who aren't making games will have there characters in with all the frames ^^, and others will just be editions

Sizes
Character Sprite: 64x64, unless the creature is sopposed to be monstorous, keep it 64x64. Monstorous creatures/humans, or extended things such as: wings, swords etc shall could be 94x64, but extended things 96x96
Character Avatar: Keep it to a 32x32, everyone should use the following box to pixel the character's avatar in...Photobucket. Or...Photobucket. Depdning on what we vote for, backround vs. no backround. Also, don't make the avatar just the top part of your sprite, make it an actual more detailed of his head and shoulders... or if it's a creature idk ^^ depending on shape.
Character Position: The character should have 2 positon frames which are: South East(Showing a south view of characters face, chest etc., but pointed to the west a little) North West(Showing back, but mostly facing west to give it a good view)
Character Frames: Refer to my other post about "*Idea*"

Is that pixel art? Looks like a bunch of smudging and brushwork on Photoshop.
In response to XxJUICExX
juice its been decided u can eather have 64x64 or 32x64

i chose 32x64 casue im doing human . 64x64 would be pretty fat/muscel creatures only .

my opinon it would be easier 32x64 but more then 64x64 is jus bigger chracter which will probly end up very hard to make .

Look pretty nice love the animation.
Well I did the outline for my char for the running char, so far what I see needs fixing is the head because it kinda bounces a little and the lower part of the belly any comments?

Thats an edit of the first icon you tried to submit into here. Why dont you make something from scratch?

Anyway, I think im going to get in on this. Heh. This seems like it would be a good monthly challenge, may aswell be with so many people jumping on this.

And stop using renders, brushes and other tools that distort the pixels (found in photoshop, etc). This isn't pixel art.

Do as you must but if want to anything to look decent and want to avoid criticism you know the first step to take. Not to mention when they try to scale the icon to dmi they'll be leaks everywhere, it'll stand out ridiculously from the other sprites in the game.

Couple of things:
1.) You don't need to post line breaks < br / > . The forums add line breaks after images already.
2.) I didn't start the collaboration, Nidaime did (so, he's the one to know 'what you can use' - although he should have been clearer about a couple of things when he started this). You don't get to determine what you can do in a collab or challenge. Saying 'you can use' doesn't make it so. If you have questions about what this collab's rules are, ask Nidaime.
3.) As far as I'm concerned for the rest of the site you can use brushes, filters or anything else (if it works), but not in someone else's challenge. However, saying things like 'pixel art is way to[o] old now', saying something vague about 'nex[t] gen' (whatever the hell that is) just makes you look like an ass. The fact that your example in your next post labeled 'pixel art' is nothing like 'pure pixel art' lets me know that you don't really know what you're talking about on this.
5.) (and most importantly) don't! bring someone else's sprite into a challenge or collab (and that's the main reason I posted this as moderator).

So, make your own sprite and if you want to use brushes, ask Nidaime if this collab is pixel art only.

That's not really a proper example; you're simply under the impression that 'pixel art' has a grainy quality to it.

What you have are the exact same image, with one made to look lossy and grainy.

That is not the same thing as making pixel art.

The problem is mainly that you misunderstand the medium that you're working with; additionally, you're misunderstanding the point of this forum, as well as the project.

This is the PIXEL art forum; this is a PIXEL art challenge. To contribute and then say that PixelArt is out dated and that you don't wish to work with it is rather silly, considering the challenge and the location.

Looks to me like you took the picture on the right and used sharpen edges.
That's not pixel art.
Pixel art is not just "boxxy art".

That's pixel art.
