Is that really pixel art? It looks more like photoshop to me.

Try fixing up the edges so its rounded out more, it looks like a cutout.

What are the markings above it?

Well for his sake, he never claimed it to be a piece of pixel art. We're allowing all general game art to posted (though we're focus on pixel art).

I honestly probably would have been offended had he called me his sensei then posted that mess. But he didn't, so "awesome iconing" indeed.

So its safe to assume by now that it isnt pixel art, but some other medium being used to make that right?

Anyhow it could use some cleaning up.
