Well, a game im helping a guy out with(Not really much working for, just favors), needs me to make a base sprite. So I started on one, and wanted to check it out with you guys, to see if there is any additions I could make to it. I havnt done a base sprite in awhile so I know its not the best, but im impressed myself xD. And I didnt make it a pillow shading base(ZOMG), I started it out as one, then polished it with a top right light source. Which seems to be a favorite in byond's bases.

Please give me some C&C, and should I put the base's side directions slightly at an angle? Or Flat sideways.
If you take the eyes down a pixel it makes it looks like he's looking more at you than above you...and some more contrast to show body structure could improve it greatly.

And yes I think you should make the side at an angle! They defiantly look better that way.

Okay, updated. I have the side states, and back state, and I cant remember if I changed the front view xD

Tell me what you think, i'ma start the animation today. The side views look a lil wrong with me, but everything proportions right.

The pants look like they are over sized for the guy, like there suspended by invisable suspenders lol

I like how you tried to show the backside's hand but it kinda looks like he has 'square' fat...you could possibly make the hand show a bit less?

And I still think you should lower his eyes by a pixel!

I tried lowering the eyes, and it didnt look good. And yeah I can notice the arm, I hate that >.>

In my opinion it looks better lower? Why don't you save a copy with it down, and then put it up here for C&C?

You might be able to just shade that square dark and leave it as a sillouette of the back hand.

Have you tried doing a rotation of it? IOW, get those four pics and put them as an animation one after the other, as if he was spinning. I've found that's a good way to find any perspective and proportion problems.
