kii_smudge is a(nother) simple library cut out from my survival twitch-shooter, Feed. The basic premise is that you can render dynamic overlay effects on various mobs to show blood when damaged, show struck arrows sticking out of them, etc. It's fairly lightweight and simple enough to understand.
