Sage - Rice, reborn

Some of you may remember an old project of mine called "Rice".

And some of you may be aware of my newly created project, called "Sage".

Sage is an open source experiment for BYOND - where everyone on BYOND can help develop features and content for the game under a organized open source framework.

Well, today I announce that they have both become one.

The old rice source will serve as the new base game for Sage. The old source will be modified and rewritten as needed to suit the development needs of Sage and will save a ton of development time.

I'd be much more prone to contribute if i didn't feel like you're trying to cleverly get everyone to make a game for you.

and how would I benefit?

I'm giving away the source to a game I worked long and hard for, under GNU 3. That pretty much destroys any business plan I might have.

The freedom to fork and modify is guaranteed under GNU 3 and that means anyone - including you - could fork the current source and start developing it completely without my knowledge or involvement.

Quick update: Sage's license has been changed to the much more permissive MIT license.
