Awesome. I've been wanting to try this out for a while. Should allow me to make some really great effects!

Not talk down on the game, but are you kidding? That map is riddled with mistakes and weird, out of place stuff. Definitely not 'good' quality, probably just 'okay' for what you'd usually find on BYOND. It just looks good because the art is good.

I dont think soo... my mapping is A++. I Try to be better every times i make something. This is true, on map we can find some bugs. More of them is making by randoms systems.... But thx for good words. :)

Ignore doohl he's clearly hating! That's amazing mapping.

I agree, his mapping skills show great attention to detail and you can tell he really cares. There are some mistakes here and there but overall the map looks great for the little resources he has.

Disagree, bruh.
Okay, first thing I noticed in Marekssj3's latest gif:

Let me be clear and say I'm trying to provide constructive criticism, not hate. But look at this cliff. I get the effect he was trying to deliver with it, but it simply does not work. There needs to be an actual, subtle transition between the cliff edge and the rest of the traversable grass otherwise it looks completely wacky and out of place. Like the head of a cliff was lopped off and suddenly just placed there.
In response to Doohl
I think the reason he may have done this is because the dirt tiles are likely square and he probably doesn't have dirt tiles for the actual shape of the cliff. If not the dirt tile would just blend in with the cliff and overlay over the grass on the other side and it would look a lot worse. This is just an assumption from years of working with pixel art and general map tiles.

I'm not really sure what you're talking about. I didn't mention the dirt at all.
In response to Doohl
Sorry, you said that there needs to be a transition between the cliff edge and the grass. What I'm trying to say is that the transition would be hard because if he were to cover the cliff with dirt instead of grass(there really is no other tiles he could use in this case), the dirt would overlay over the grass on the other side, since he likely doesn't have any tiles that fit the cliff's shape perfectly. You understand what I mean? You can even see that a piece of the darker grass on the right is already overlaying over the cliff because there's no tiles that are made specifically for the shape of that cliff. So he just blended all of that together so he could still use the cliff and it would look fairly decent. I've seen this many times, but then again this is all just an assumption.

Yeah, still not sure where you're going with the dirt. I will try to better explain myself.

The cliff shown in the picture above, given the perspective, implies a very sheer drop that can't even be seen fully. And yet a few tiles away, the cliff 'ends' and the 'normal' elevation is assumed. It doesn't convey the effect very well, and ends up looking reaaally wacky.

I ran into this issue in Severed World, and the best way I could find to convey the illusion of a rolling hill is to keep the transitions as subtle as possible. You don't need special tiles to do that, you just need to be a bit more clever with the placement of your existing turfs.

What I did in my picture isn't perfect by any means, and also kinda sucks, but it should illustrate what I mean. If you don't see it, look at the bottomleft of the picture.
In response to Doohl
AH yes! I see what you're saying with the drop. I didn't pay much attention to that it just seemed natural, good point. I think it would also help if the grass at the bottom of the cliff was darker, to give it a bit of depth( For both Severed World and Mareks' game).
It's okay to be a hater doohl if the world was filled with yes men and liars the world would be a terrible place embrace the label the world gives us brutally honest truthful folks...

u should add some trees next to the cliffs edges to show more depth

Reminds me of what I made a little over 2 years ago:

Of course, that was before atom.transform and animate(). I made it in anticipation for atom.transform, similar to how my latest library, screenbox, was made in anticipation for client.bounds.
Reminds me a lot of Scribblenauts.
ufff i finish with UI in battle, now time give battle more dynamic... :)

Pikachu, use Obama!

Feel free to break it and let me know how. Post any questions on how to use it in the forums. I'll work on a help system at some point.
