Lummox JR has been hard at work with a ton of new features, including nearly-complete 4.0 skin support (eg, grid, tab, bar, and a new d-pad control). We'd still like to see others contribute to this effort with controls of their own. We desperately need testing of this to see how it performs under large load. Please try hosting your games with it if you haven't in a while. We plan on using a multithreading setup (easier with the thin client model) to improve the server, but we really are going to need some real playtesting for this. Next step is to handle login/signup from within the page, so you can just embed the whole unit on an outside site and keep your users on one page, without having to come here. We are looking into using a more universal id system (openID w facebook/google/etc) to make the process even easier. |
I just re-released 1263 because it had a few little bugs (not worthy of a full release).

A lot of internal fixes for stuff encountered during SS13 testing (still ongoing). The most visible one is a new popup/alert system more like the one in DreamSeeker. This is getting somewhat close to stable. We'll have inline logins/signups and a better initial presentation in place pretty soon. |

More internal tests.. it's getting somewhat stable. There is a new layout modification where some outside configs like the render mode and d-pad are now located in a status bar at the bottom. I think you guys will like that more. BTW, we have been hosting a public SS13 test to gather debugging for this webclient. Information about that is located via reddit, here: http://www.reddit.com/r/SS13/comments/2lmsrt/ webclient_test_round_8/ |

More fixes for stability (via SS13). We are moving on testing of more games now, including Eternia and Soul Elysium. BTW, even if you aren't using the webclient, you should probably go ahead and update to 507 since it has a number of non-beta fixes. We'll move it into the stable channel sometime soon. |

We're getting there! This is an exciting release, as we've added inline login/embed support. This means you can put the game right on your website just like a youtube video. For example, this is the SS13 build we have been using for testing: http://tom.byondhome.com/ss13.html which uses this provided embed code (from DreamDaemon): <iframe src="http://www.byond.com/play/embed/208.113.204.136:8000" width=640 height=480></iframe> This is almost ready to be moved into the stable build. At that point,, we would really like to encourage larger promotion of these kinds of games on your own sites (using the new embed). Hopefully we can find some people willing to assist in this effort. Give it a try! |
